Wild Garlic Table Food & Wine Night
Our second night out with Pauline Sugru of Wild Garlic Table was a huge success.
The food was a delicious Middle Eastern mezze affair, with home made breads, humus, feta and pistachio dip, wild garlic pesto and Labneh for starter. Rack of lamb with Salt & Pepper Crust for main along with 3 incredible Middle Eastern themed salads. To end we had a delicious poached pear with home made biscuits and ice cream.
Along with the real time food demo and meal by Pauline, Richard gave a talk on the basics and fundamental principles of wine and food pairing. Two different wines of contrasting styles were paired with each course (you need to be well lubricated for all that food after all)!
Wines were; Raboso grape semi sparkling off dry Rose from Veneto, Italy (Rabosello €16.99), an organic Dry Riesling from Alsace (Ginglinger €16.49), an organic off dry Gewürztraminer from Alsace (Ginglinger, €22.99), a Bordeaux red (Chateau Fourquet €14.99), a Lebanese Red (Chateau Massaya €20.99), a Tokaj Dessert Wine from Hungary (Tokaj Classic 3P €21.99) and a Tawny Port (Van Seller €19.99)... phew!!!
