New 3fe Coffees Just Landed...

One of the great joys of our job is to select which coffee roaster we’d like to order from to replenish our retail coffee bag section of the shop.

The main source of the joy comes from variety; the spice of life! Not only is there great variety in terms of coffees from one farm to the next, one coffee varietal to the next (think granny smith vs golden delicious in an apple analogy - the same is true for coffee varietals), but also differences in roasting styles and competencies between one coffee roaster and another.

Whilst it’s easy to get in to the mindset of coffee is just coffee; it’s a caffeine delivery system, so what’s the big deal, nothing can be further from the truth. We get immense joy from seeing customers coming back and giving feedback as to what coffee they like versus another in terms of one country versus another e.g. Brazil vs Kenya, or perhaps one processing method compared to another (washed versus naturals), or even a preference of one roast style of a Kenyan by one coffee roaster versus the roast style of Kenyans by another. These conversations fuel more and more experimentation by customers and ultimately increase the level on understanding and enjoyment of coffee by them.

One point to note is that these rotating coffees always come in whole bean format (ie not ground). DON’T BE PUT OFF BY THIS!!!! We are more than happy to grind them for you to suit whatever way you make your coffee at home, whether by espresso machine, filter or French Press.

This week’s offerings are by the lovely folks down at 3fe in Dublin…
